Prof. Dr. Dwi Suryanto, M.Sc. dilahirkan di Bangka pada tanggal 09 April 1964. Beliau merupakan seorang dosen Biologi di Universitas Sumatera Utara. Beliau menyelesaikan pendidikan terakhirnya pada jenjang Doktor (S3), program studi Biologi, di Institut Pertanian Bogor pada tahun 2001.
