FMIPA PUBLIC RELATIONS: The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FMIPA Universitas Sumatera Utara), actively participated in the Workshop on Optimizing Public Information Services Governance within USU. The activity was held for two days, on Wednesday and Thursday, May 20–21, 2026, at the Academic Senate Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, USU Rectorate Building.

FMIPA USU’s participation in this workshop was a direct follow-up to an official university invitation involving all heads of work units. The FMIPA delegation attended to gain deeper insights into strategies for improving public information management in a more optimal and accountable manner.

One of the key moments of the workshop was the signing of the Integrity Pact by representatives of deans and directors within USU. This act marked FMIPA USU’s strong commitment to supporting public information transparency in accordance with national regulations. The workshop featured several experts, including:

  • Donny Yoesgiantoro, who presented materials on the challenges of information transparency in higher education institutions.
  • Siti Ajijah, who provided technical guidance on identifying periodic public information, disputed information, as well as drafting the Public Information List (DIP) and Excluded Information List (DIK).

Through participation in this workshop, FMIPA USU—via its public relations officers and PPID (Public Information Management Officers)—is expected to implement a more structured information governance system, including conducting consequence tests for exempted information.

The event concluded with a session on preparing public information service reports as a standard evaluation tool for communication performance within Universitas Sumatera Utara.
