HUMAS FMIPA - As part of its commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education and strengthening the implementation of an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), welcomed a benchmarking visit from the Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FTIK), UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. The visit served as a platform for exchanging experiences and best practices in developing curricula that align with workforce demands, Indonesia's National Higher Education Standards (SN-Dikti), and the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) policy.

The program began with welcoming remarks from the leadership of both faculties, followed by presentations and discussions on the implementation of OBE. Topics included the development of graduate profiles, Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL), formulation of Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK), teaching and learning strategies, assessment systems, as well as curriculum evaluation and continuous improvement mechanisms. The interactive discussions provided valuable opportunities for both institutions to share experiences in developing adaptive and high-quality curricula.

As a demonstration of their commitment to strengthening institutional collaboration, the event also featured the signing of an Implementation Agreement (IA) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between FMIPA USU and FTIK UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan. These agreements establish a framework for collaborative initiatives in education, joint research, scientific publications, community engagement, faculty and student exchange programs, and human resource capacity development.

The benchmarking program concluded with a visit to the FMIPA USU Chemistry Laboratory, where participants were introduced to the laboratory's facilities, teaching and research equipment, laboratory management system, and various research activities that support academic learning within FMIPA USU. The visit also opened opportunities for future collaboration in the utilization of laboratory facilities for academic activities and joint research projects.

Through this benchmarking program, the signing of the IA and MoA, and the laboratory visit, FMIPA USU and FTIK UIN Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships. The collaboration is expected to foster innovation in the development of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curricula while enhancing the quality of education, research, and community engagement sustainably.
