The Rector of Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) officially inaugurated three Permanent Professors of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) on October 22, 2025, as a recognition of their academic dedication and contributions to scientific advancement.

FMIPA Public Relations – The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sumatera Utara, achieved another proud milestone through the inauguration of three Permanent Professors, held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the USU Student Hall. This event marks an important moment for FMIPA in strengthening its academic role and contribution to the advancement of science and the quality of higher education in Indonesia.

 

The three lecturers inaugurated as Permanent Professors of Universitas Sumatera Utara are:

  1. Prof. Dr. Cut Fatimah Zuhra, S.Si., M.Si., Professor in the Field of Synthetic Organic Chemistry.

  2. Prof. Dr. Yurnaliza, S.Si., M.Si., Professor in the Field of Environmental Microbiology.

  3. Prof. Dr. Esther Sorta Mauli Nababan, M.Sc., Professor in the Field of Dynamic Systems and Mathematical Modeling.

 

In his remarks, the Rector of USU expressed great pride and appreciation for the achievements of the lecturers.

“This inauguration is not only a recognition of dedication and scholarly work but also an inspiration for the entire academic community to continue innovating and contributing to the advancement of science that benefits society,” he stated.

 

The three Professors are expected to further strengthen research capacity, teaching quality, and community engagement within FMIPA USU. Their presence as senior academics serves as a model for realizing USU’s vision of “Transformation Towards the Ultimate” and supports the Dikti Saintek Berdampak program in enhancing the national science and technology ecosystem.

With this inauguration, FMIPA USU reaffirms its commitment to building a strong academic tradition, global competitiveness, and meaningful contributions to the progress of science and technology.
