FMIPA PUBLIC RELATIONS — The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara (FMIPA USU), welcomed an educational visit from SMPIT Sahabat Al-Qur’an, Binjai, on Thursday, October 15, 2026. The activity was part of an effort to introduce science and technology to students through an introduction to laboratory facilities and the academic environment of a higher education institution.

The visit, which took place within the FMIPA USU campus, was expected to provide students with a meaningful learning experience. Through this activity, participants had the opportunity to broaden their understanding of the role of science and technology in everyday life and the importance of learning science from an early age.

As part of a higher education institution, FMIPA USU plays a role in supporting knowledge development and introducing the academic world to the public, including through educational visits from schools. Interaction between secondary education institutions and higher education institutions is expected to foster curiosity, interest in learning, and motivation among students to explore various fields of science.

This visit was also part of an effort to bring higher education institutions closer to the community through relevant and inspiring learning experiences. The introduction to laboratory facilities and the application of science on campus was expected to provide students with an initial overview of the learning process and scientific development at the university level.

Through this activity, FMIPA USU hopes that educational visits will continue to serve as a means of expanding scientific literacy, fostering young people's interest in science and technology, and strengthening relationships between schools and higher education institutions in support of quality education.
