FMIPA USU successfully hosted The 2nd International Conference on Physics and Applied Physics (ICP & AP) 2023, focusing on physics innovation for Society 5.0 Revolution. The event featured 43 participants and 4 international keynote speakers.

FMIPA USU – Medan

The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) USU successfully hosted The 2nd International Conference on Physics and Applied Physics (ICP & AP) USU 2023, with the theme “Enhance an Innovation of Physics Research for Competitive Dignified Nation in Society Revolution 5.0”, at Grandhika Hotel Medan on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The event featured four keynote speakers: Dr. Budha Deka Boruah from University College London, UK; Prof. Ming Way Lee from National Chung Hsing University, Taiwan; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd. Mustafa Awang Kechik from Universiti Putra Malaysia; and Prof. Dr. Timbangen Sembiring, M.Sc., from Universitas Sumatera Utara, represented by Dr. Drs. Syahrul Humaidi, M.Sc.

 

 

The event was officially opened by the Chairperson of the Committee, Dr. Ir. Zikri Noer, S.Si., M.Si., alongside FMIPA USU Vice Dean II, Dr. Susilawati, M.Si., who represented the Dean of FMIPA USU. The conference was attended by 43 participants from various institutions, including Universitas Riau (UNRI), Universitas Medan Area (UMA), Chemical Engineering USU, and Biology USU. In his opening remarks, the Chairperson expressed his hope that this event would guide all participants through a sea of information and ideas for a brighter future. “This reminds us that in a constantly changing world, we must unite to explore new horizons and chart a path toward a better future,” he stated.

 

 

FMIPA USU Vice Dean II, Dr. Susilawati, M.Si., in her remarks, expressed her hope that ICP & AP would provide valuable experience for fresh graduates, scholars, lecturers, and other participants to present their research findings to a broader audience. “We hope this program, in a pleasant environment, will stimulate the exchange of ideas, identify common problems across various fields, foster cross-border solutions, and build new collaborations and friendships,” she said.

 

 

The event also included the presentation of plaques and certificates to the speakers, both online and in person. The plaques and certificates were handed over by the Chairperson and Vice Dean II. Following this, a group photo session took place before the participants presented their research findings during the parallel sessions.
