The study visit of FMIPA Universitas Riau (UNRI) to FMIPA Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) focused on preparing for the establishment of a Doctoral Program in Physics at UNRI. This event strengthened interfaculty collaboration through discussions and facility tours.

FMIPA USU – Medan

The Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Prof. Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc., welcomed a study visit from FMIPA Universitas Riau (UNRI) consisting of five lecturers. The meeting took place in the FMIPA USU Meeting Room, 3rd Floor, Unit 8, on Tuesday (11/07/2023). The event was also attended by Vice Dean II, Vice Dean III, the Head of the Doctoral Program in Physics, and several lecturers from the Doctoral Program in Physics. This study visit aimed to prepare for the establishment of a Doctoral Program in Physics at Universitas Riau.

According to Prof. Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc., Dean of FMIPA USU, this study visit is expected to be highly beneficial for preparing the Doctoral Program in Physics at Universitas Riau and strengthening the close relationship between FMIPA USU and FMIPA UNRI.

“We are delighted to share our experiences and knowledge with our colleagues from FMIPA Universitas Riau. Moving forward, we hope the collaboration between FMIPA USU and FMIPA UNRI will continue and bring greater benefits to both parties,” said the Dean of FMIPA USU.

During the visit, lecturers from FMIPA UNRI discussed the experiences of FMIPA USU lecturers in managing the Doctoral Program in Physics. They also had the opportunity to tour various laboratories and classrooms at FMIPA USU. The event concluded with an exchange of souvenirs and a group photo session between FMIPA USU and UNRI, with the souvenirs handed over directly by the Dean of FMIPA USU.
