FMIPA USU - Medan

To celebrate the 57th Anniversary of FMIPA, various activities were held on Sunday, December 18, 2022. These included a fun run, games, and a bazaar. The fun run was organized as a friendly and enjoyable sporting event, with participants running around the Universitas Sumatera Utara campus. This non-competitive activity focused on fun and fitness through a morning jog.

The fun run began with participant registration at 6:30 AM, followed by the flag-off at the starting line by USU Rector, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si., who waved the start flag accompanied by confetti. The route covered Jl. Bioteknologi, Jl. Prof. Hanafiah, Jl. Dr. A. Sofian, Jl. Universitas, Jl. Alumni, Jl. Politeknik, Jl. Tri Dharma, and returned to Jl. Bioteknologi as the finish line.

Along the route, there were four designated posts: Post A for distributing mineral water, Post B for depositing lucky draw coupons, Post C for additional water distribution, and Post D as the finish line and breakfast pickup point for participants.

After the fun run, the ceremonial event began with an opening by MC and FMIPA alumnus, Drs. Ansari Tarigan, M.Si., followed by the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and a Batak traditional dance performed by seven FMIPA students.

The Chairperson of the 57th Anniversary Committee, Dr. Kaniwa Berliani, S.Si., M.Si., delivered a report on the series of events. This was followed by speeches from FMIPA Dean, Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc., and USU Rector, Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. In his speech, the Rector highlighted future challenges for FMIPA, emphasizing the need for classroom transformation through innovation integrating education, research, and community service. He also expressed hope that FMIPA's research outcomes could be downstreamed and integrated into the industry.

To enliven the event, the Rector and FMIPA leaders performed three songs and selected lucky draw winners for exciting prizes.

After a break, the event continued with games focused on togetherness, such as balloon dance, sack races, tug-of-war, and program study chants. These games involved students, staff, and lecturers, with winners receiving prizes from the committee.

The bazaar was another highlight of the event, aimed at introducing and promoting goods or services while fostering entrepreneurship among FMIPA students. The bazaar featured 20 stands, including Sanubari Caffee and Souvenir, Bestie Store, Beautycare Corry Satto, Uni Emi, Segar Drink, Saddam Ice Cream, and others. The stands offered a variety of culinary delights, fashion products, cosmetics, souvenirs, and agricultural produce from community service projects.
