The Dean of FMIPA USU attended the 2025 MIPAnet National Working Meeting at Universitas Terbuka to strengthen national synergy in STEM and promote MIPA’s strategic role in Indonesia’s development.
Public Relations FMIPA – Under the theme “MIPAnet: Uniting Efforts to Build an Impactful Campus,” the National Network of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MIPAnet) held its 2025 National Meeting (Rakernas) as part of a broader effort to strengthen national synergy, particularly in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The event took place on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Multipurpose Building, Universitas Terbuka (UT) Central Office, Pondok Cabe, South Tangerang.
The meeting was attended by prominent speakers, including the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Brian Yuliarto, Ph.D. (virtually), Acting Director of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa) at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, Dr. Berry Juliandi, S.Si, M.Si, Rector of UT Dr. Mohamad Yunus, S.S, M.A., Vice Rector for Academic Affairs at UT Rahmat Budiman, S.S, M.Hum, Ph.D., Secretary General of MIPAnet and Dean of FMIPA UGM Prof. Dr. Eng Kuwat Triyana, M.Si., Dean of FST UT and Chair of the 2025 MIPAnet National Meeting Dr. Subekti Nurmawati, M.Si., along with representatives from 53 universities across Indonesia, including deans of FMIPA, FST, FSM, and Faculties of Biology.
In recent years, MIPAnet has been actively contributing to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology through evidence-based policy recommendations. It regularly organizes national seminars, faculty development workshops, and community service programs relevant to scientific advancement.
One of the key challenges for MIPAnet is ensuring that the resolutions from this national meeting are not merely formal documents but are translated into real action. Under President Prabowo’s administration, which emphasizes technological and innovation development, MIPAnet has a great opportunity to contribute meaningfully. However, this opportunity requires a strong commitment from all members to collaborate continuously, improve education quality, and produce research that addresses the nation’s pressing needs.
The 2025 MIPAnet National Meeting is more than just a discussion forum; it is a call to action to collectively strengthen the role of science and technology in building Indonesia. This is the moment for MIPAnet to transform into a driving force of national innovation.
With the successful organization of this event, MIPAnet reaffirms its role as a national network committed to strengthening fundamental science in response to future challenges. All participants pledged to position MIPA as a central force in developing excellent and innovative human resources for Indonesia.
