This workshop is considered important by the Dean of FMIPA, so that the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences also supports the workshop by assigning Dr. Kaniwa Berliani, M.Si as Head of Public Relations and Alberto Tondang S.Kom as FMIPA Public Relations operator to attend the workshop in accordance with Task Letter no. 794/UN5.2.1.8/SDM/2022.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Fidel Ganis Siregar M.Kedd (OG), Sp.OG (K) gave a speech that this workshop is very necessary because the input is expected that all faculty public relations will provide good and accurate information on various activities. This information will open public access to find out the extent of the faculty's progress within USU in building cooperation with various partners, which will have a big effect on USU's progress. In addition, he also said that faculty public relations must be responsible for the progress of the faculty, which will lead to the progress of USU in the future. Therefore, the faculty of public relations is expected to manage the website better and more attractive because it provides complete information using simple language that can be understood by all circles.

Furthermore, Nurhalim explained what cyber media and websites mean and how to write straight news and feature news. Based on his presentation, news writing must use the 5W + H creed with an inverted pyramid structure. “So, when using this inverted pyramid structure, the lower the information provided, the less important it is, but it still upholds the information that will become news,” Nurhalim added. The seriousness of the workshop participants could be seen when doing the exercises of writing straight news and features. Furthermore, the results of the training were immediately sent to the committee with the email address humas@usu.ac.id

After all workshop participants submit the results of the writing training, they will be corrected, and the 3 best news writers will be based on the committee's assessment. In the end, the committee decided the winners of the writing competition, namely 1st place Khairunnisa (Faculty of Agriculture), 2nd place Hidayat (Faculty of Medicine), and 3rd place Kaniwa Berliani (Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences). The winners are entitled to get attractive prizes from the workshop committee.

Congratulations to the winners. Always success.
