FMIPA USU - Medan
Field trip is a field study conducted by students to learn and make a trip to outside the school field. On Friday, 28 October 2022, SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Darul Hasan Kota Padangsidempuan conducted a field trip to the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
The event was held in the function room of Unit 1 FMIPA which was attended by Vice Dean I, Dr Cut Fatimah Zuhra, M.Si, Head and secretary of Mathematics, Physics, Mathematics and Biology Study Programmes, Head of Subdivision, Lecturers in FMIPA, Principal, Sela Lufita Salim Nasution, S.Pd.I, Vice Principal for Curriculum, Erayanti Siregar, S.Pd, Vice Principal for Student Affairs, Fitri Syahriani Rambe, S.Pd. Teachers and students of SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Darul Hasan Kota Padangsidempuan.
Field trip of SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Darul Hasan Kota Padangsidempuan began with the opening by MC Dr. Kaniwa Berliani, M.Si and continued with a prayer performed by Syahrizul Siahaan, A.Md.
Vice Dean I, Dr Cut Fatimah Zuhrah, M.Si, mentioned that this field trip is very good for students to gain introductions, experience and plan which study program they will study at FMIPA USU. In addition, she also invited students of SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Darul Hasan Kota Padangsidempuan to visit four laboratories so that they can get more information about campus life for their aspirations to study at FMIPA USU.
Furthermore, the Principal of SMA Swasta Islam Terpadu Darul Hasan Kota Padangsidempuan, Sela Lufita Salim Nasution, S.Pd.I, said that this field trip will train students in independent learning in exploring their curiosity about four fields namely mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology. She also hoped that some of the students would graduate to study at FMIPA USU through the various USU new student admission pathways.
The event continued with an exchange of souvenirs and the signing of a collaboration between FMIPA Universitas Sumatera Utara and Integrated Islamic Private High School, Darul Hasan Kota Padangsidempuan. After that, Vice Dean I and the Head of the Study Programme presented an overview of the four study programs at FMIPA USU by explaining their current conditions and situation. At the end of the event, students visited chemistry, physics, biology, and mathematics laboratories at FMIPA USU.
