HUMAS FMIPA - In supporting the Equity Program (Enhancing Quality Education For International University), the Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics Study Programs of FMIPA USU simultaneously held an Alumni Gathering at the Santika Premiere Dyandra Hotel Medan, which was held on Saturday (13/01/2024).
The Dean of FMIPA USU, Prof. Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu M.Sc., gave a speech as well as opening this Alumni Gathering activity. Prof. Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc., hopes that this activity can strengthen connections and collaboration among graduates. “This program can improve the achievement of the main indicators of World Class University, including Employer Reputation, by providing direct evidence of the quality of education and alumni success in the world of work,” she said. Also present to give a speech, the Manager of the Internationalization Program at the Directorate of Internationalization and Global Partnerships, Prof. Rikson Asman Fertiles Siburian, S.Si., M.Si., Ph.D. He said that the Alumni Gathering Program is part of the Equity Program (Enhancing Quality Education For International University), a program that can increase the ranking of the Universitas Sumatera Utara to the World University Ranking level. “Alumni have an important role to gather, socialize, and reminisce about the past and about the future for the progress of USU,” he said. In his remarks, he also hoped that this Alumni Gathering activity would be a moment to increase USU in the QS World University Ranking so that it could attract foreign students to study at the Universitas Sumatera Utara. “Let's raise our ranking together so that our place, our alma mater, becomes a prestigious place that is respected and respected like in the 80s and 90s”, he hoped. He also thanked the Study Program for organizing the Alumni Gathering activity.

This year's Alumni Gathering event, in addition to meeting and greeting alumni and alumni with lecturers, was also held more interestingly because of the Equity Program presentation, which aims to build strong synergy between alumni and alma mater, improve the reputation of USU graduates through alumni performance in their respective workplaces, and provide input on improving the quality of graduates. In addition to the Presentation of the Enhancing Quality Education For International University Recognition Program (Equity Project), alumni are also directed to fill out the Employment List Form to improve USU's Employer Reputation, which is one of the indicators of USU's QS World University Ranking in the eyes of the world. The activity ended with lunch together and entertainment.
