The Undergraduate Program in Biology at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) was established in 1988 with the responsibility to provide quality education in the fields of industrial biology, environment, and natural resource conservation. Supported by qualified and highly committed teaching staff, the Undergraduate Program in Biology aims to produce graduates who have global competitiveness.
They are expected to be able to conduct bioresources management and research, as well as develop products related to industrial biology, the environment, and its preservation. Graduates from this program have various career opportunities, ranging from becoming researchers, pharmacologists, biotechnologists, biologists, to ecologists.

Himpunan Mahasiswa Biologi (Himabio)
Himpunan Mahasiswa Biologi (English: Biology Student Association), or abbreviated as Himabio, is a forum provided for all Biology students at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, USU, to express their aspirations, develop their potential, ideas, and creativity with intellectual values in developing themselves to serve the community. Himabio also acts as a bridge between students and study programs in establishing cooperation for a noble cause.
Biologi Pencita Alam dan Studi Lingkungan Hidup (BIOPALAS)
Biologi Pencita Alam dan Studi Lingkungan Hidup (English: Biology Nature Lovers and Environmental Studies), abbreviated as BIOPALAS, brings together all biology students with the aim of developing independent, skilled, and active characters in the field. Bioplas plays a role in building awareness and a sense of responsibility, especially regarding the importance of all natural biodiversity.
Biology Database Centre (BDC)
The Biology Database Centre (BDC) is a student organization focused on photography, aiming to develop reliable and professional skills in collecting biodiversity data. The goal is to create a reference database that can assist fellow USU Biology students in obtaining data.
Ikatan Pengajian Keluarga Biologi (IPKB)
Ikatan Pengajian Keluarga Biologi (English: Biology Family Islamic Study Group), abbreviated as IPKB, is a place for all members of the USU Biology family, including Muslim lecturers, staff, and students, to meet and gather. It also provides a forum for worshiping together in order to establish and maintain bonds of friendship and kinship among fellow Muslims.
Persatuan Keluarga Besar Kristen Biologi (PKBKB)
Persatuan Keluarga Besar Kristen Biologi (English: Christian Biology Family Association), abbreviated as PKBKB, is an association where all Christian Biology families at USU, including lecturers, staff, and students, can meet and gather. It also serves as a forum for organizing activities and worship services among fellow Christians to foster fellowship among fellow believers.
