The public lecture “Physics Mindset for a Career in the Palm Oil Industry” was held by FMIPA USU by inviting Dr. Ahmad Fauzi, M.Si. This activity equips Physics students with strategic insights for a successful career in the palm oil industry.

FMIPA Public Relations - To enhance students' competence, the Undergraduate Program in Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized a guest lecture titled "The Physics Mindset for a Career in the Palm Oil Industry." The event was attended by students of the Undergraduate Program in Physics, FMIPA USU, and featured an expert speaker, Dr. Ahmad Fauzi, M.Si., a researcher at the Palm Oil Research Center of PT Riset Perkebunan Nusantara.

 

 

The event began with a welcoming speech by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Physics, FMIPA USU, Dr. Tulus Ikhsan Nasution, S.Si., M.Sc. In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation to the speaker for attending and emphasized the importance of students engaging seriously with the material. "I hope that through this guest lecture, attending students can study the material diligently so that, upon graduating from FMIPA USU, they have a clear vision and targets for a career in the palm oil industry," he stated.

 

 

The Vice Dean I of FMIPA USU, Dr. Cut Fatimah Zuhra, S.Si., M.Si., representing the Dean of FMIPA USU, also delivered a speech and officially opened the event. In her remarks, she highlighted the significance of the session for students. "This guest lecture is highly beneficial as it provides knowledge directly from an expert. I hope students make the most of this opportunity to plan their future careers and devise strategies to pursue opportunities in the plantation industry," she said.

 

 

The event was formally opened by Vice Dean I of FMIPA USU, accompanied by the Head of the Undergraduate Program in Physics, FMIPA USU, and the guest speaker.

 

 

Dr. Ahmad Fauzi, M.Si., as the speaker, emphasized that physics is a crucial element closely related to the plantation industry, including palm oil. In his presentation, he explained how understanding physics could be a key factor in developing successful career strategies in the plantation sector. The activity aimed to broaden students' insights into career opportunities and strategies in the plantation sector, particularly in the palm oil industry.
