The first day of limited Face-to-Face Learning (PTM) activities at FMIPA went smoothly. This was witnessed directly by the Rector of the Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos, M.Si, and his entourage when visiting the PTM Preparation on this campus in the learning process and the application of health protocols in each class. The implementation of limited PTM at FMIPA is expected; students can feel the lectures on campus again, even though, at the same time, some other students carry out online lectures. Limited PTM is carried out by holding three important aspects: lecturers, students, and learning support facilities. The implementation of this learning applies strict procedures so that lecturers and students must have the second Covid vaccination and have the PeduliLindung application on their respective gadgets.  Furthermore, lecturers and students must also be accustomed to using technology when PTM takes place. On this occasion, the Rector and his entourage went directly to the classes that were carrying out PTM, including classes in the Mathematics study program and in the Physics study program. The Rector said, “Health protocols in the faculty must be more strictly implemented for the smooth running of the PTM process and the health of all those present. This process will continue to be monitored and evaluated”.

So far, FMIPA has prepared limited PTM as well as possible, starting from the availability of classes that accommodate a maximum of 25 students, technology and its applications, the completeness of the tools, and the Covid Task Force to carry out health protocols. However, it does not rule out the possibility of shortcomings in these preparations. Over time, shortcomings in the implementation of limited PTM will be corrected so that lectures can run smoothly as expected. Furthermore, the Dean of FMIPA, Dr. Nursahara Pasaribu, M.Sc said, “We are very grateful to the Rector and his entourage for their visit and providing constructive input and evaluation in the implementation of limited PTM at FMIPA so that the evaluation is an encouragement for us to fill and fix the shortcomings of this preparation as soon as possible”.
