The USU Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences received a benchmarking visit from PT Agincourt Resources regarding flora conservation using in vitro tissue culture methods. This visit emphasizes collaboration in environmental conservation and biodiversity.
FMIPA Public Relations, USU - On Monday, November 11, 2024, the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), welcomed a benchmarking visit from PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) at the Plant Physiology and Tissue Culture Laboratory, FMIPA USU.
PT Agincourt Resources (PTAR) is a company engaged in gold and silver mining in South Tapanuli Regency, North Sumatra Province. In its operations, PTAR strives to adhere to good mining practices, including environmental conservation through the implementation of sustainable biodiversity preservation programs. One of these initiatives is the conservation of flora in mining operational areas using in vitro tissue culture methods.
The visit was warmly received by the Vice Dean III of FMIPA USU, Prof. Dr. Miswar Budi Mulya, S.Si., M.Si., along with faculty members from the Biology Department of FMIPA USU, including Prof. Dr. Drs. Isnaini Nurwahyuni, M.Sc., Dr. Elimasni, M.Si., Riyanto Sinaga, S.Si., M.Si., Drs. Zaidun Sofyan, M.Si., and Simon Duve, M.Si.
