HUMAS FMIPA – The Physics Study Program of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a strategic meeting to discuss the planning of an international mobility collaboration with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). The meeting marked an important step in expanding international academic networks while supporting the internationalization of higher education.

The discussion was attended by representatives of the Physics Study Program of FMIPA USU, together with Dr. Abdul Hamid and Dr. Siti Marpugah. The meeting explored various opportunities for academic collaboration between the two institutions, focusing on the development of student mobility programs, lecturer exchanges, collaborative research, joint scientific publications, and the organization of international academic activities.
The Head of the Physics Study Program at FMIPA USU expressed optimism that the collaboration would provide broader opportunities for students and lecturers to gain international academic experience. Through mobility programs, students are expected not only to broaden their global perspectives but also to strengthen their academic competencies, cross-cultural communication skills, and international competitiveness.

In addition, the partnership with UTHM is expected to lay the foundation for collaborative research aimed at addressing scientific and technological challenges. The initiative also aligns with Universitas Sumatera Utara's commitment to supporting the Diktisaintek Berdampak program and advancing the university's vision of becoming a leading institution with international recognition.
Through this meeting, the Physics Study Program of FMIPA USU expressed confidence that its collaboration with Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia will soon be realized through concrete programs that benefit the academic communities of both institutions while strengthening academic ties between Indonesia and Malaysia.
