FMIPA USU – Medan
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), conducted a visit to the Geological Survey Center (PSG), Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, located at Jl. Diponegoro No. 57, Bandung (December 1, 2023). The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Miswar Budi Mulya, S.Si, M.Si (Vice Dean III), included Dr. Cut Fatimah Zuhra, M.Si (Vice Dean I), Dr. Mardiningsih, M.Si (Head of Undergraduate Mathematics Program), Dr. Sovia Lenny, S.Si, M.Si (Head of Undergraduate Chemistry Program), Awan Maghfirah, S.Si, M.Si (Secretary of Undergraduate Physics Program), Riyanto Sinaga, S.Si, M.Si (Secretary of Undergraduate Biology Program), Lely Ratnawati, S.T. (Head of Research, Community Service, and Cooperation Division), and Novita Sari Dewi Bangun, S.E. (Cooperation Operator). They were received by PSG representatives in the meeting room of the A.F. Lasut VII Building, 2nd Floor.
The meeting was warmly welcomed by Dr. Ir. Hendra Gunawan (Acting Head of the Geological Survey Center), Drs. Hermansyah, M.Si (Former Head of PSG), Dedi Irawan, S.T., M.T.I. (Head of General Affairs), Dr. Ronaldo Irzon, S.T., M.T. (Head of Mapping Team), Ir. S.R. Sinung Baskoro Januar (Laboratory Facilities and Investigation Team), Aini Ayuningtyas, S.I.Pus. (Cooperation Division), Ardi Refriyansa and Nungky (Cooperation Division), Angga Aditya (Public Relations), and Erni Rosinawati (Legal Division).
The meeting began with PSG presenting their organizational structure and activity programs, including laboratory management, field sampling, gravity method integration, and the management of nationally accredited journals. Subsequently, both parties discussed activities that could be implemented by FMIPA USU study programs, which would later become part of the Implementation Arrangement (IA).
The meeting concluded with an exchange of souvenirs. The PSG team, represented by Dr. Ir. Hendra Gunawan (Acting Head of the Geological Survey Center) and Dedi Irawan, S.T., M.T.I. (Head of General Affairs), presented a plaque to FMIPA USU. The souvenir was received by Prof. Dr. Miswar Budi Mulya, S.Si, M.Si (Vice Dean III), accompanied by Dr. Cut Fatimah Zuhra, S.Si, M.Si (Vice Dean I).
Prof. Dr. Miswar Budi Mulya, S.Si, M.Si, expressed hope that this visit would mark the beginning of strategic collaboration opportunities to develop higher education's Tri Dharma activities and the Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka program. The collaboration is expected to produce optimal outcomes for both parties.
