A group of 12 students from Indonesia has arrived at the International Center for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS), University of Karachi (UoK), for a research training program. According to the spokesperson of ICCBS - University of Karachi, 12 Indonesian students have arrived at ICCBS - University of Karachi. These foreign students will receive training in various fields of chemistry and molecular medicine under the ICCBS & COMSTECH scholarship program for young Indonesian scientists, he said. According to the spokesperson, these scholars are from the Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia, and will be given the opportunity to directly use various biological techniques. They will also be facilitated to take part in various academic activities at two leading institutions of ICCBS, including the Dr. Panjwani Center for Molecular Medicine and Drug Research (PCMD) and the H. E. J. Research Institute of Chemistry, he added.

Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Director of the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences and Coordinator General of COMSTECH, welcomed the foreign students and said that this cooperative venture will promote science and technology between the two countries. This programme will enable us to develop new and innovative technologies and products to address future challenges, he added. ICCBS is the only institution in Pakistan certified by ISO, and is also a 'UNESCO Centre for Excellence Category-2 Institute', he said.
